My group medical practice began more than twenty years ago in a small office in Monterey, California. When the group later built a new office building and surgery center in the Ryan Ranch area of Monterey, we wanted to decorate it with very tasteful and unique art. I had purchase four paintings for my home in Corral de Tierra, California from Ricardo M. Jimenez and I became acquainted with his style of painting. My medical group then commissioned Mr. Jimenez to create artwork for our new 15,000 square foot building. We made a decision to purchase a portfolio of work from him and gave Mr. Jimenez a short time frame in which to deliver it to us so that it could be displayed at our Open House Celebration. He successfully met our deadline. We worked with Mr. Jimenez to select the twenty-one abstract Expressionism paintings of various sizes as well as the framing and placement of the paintings throughout the facility. The size of the paintings ranged from 3 inches by 16 inches to 4 feet by 6 feet. The pieces priced at $3,800 to $12,400. The paintings are rich in color and portray a feeling of the ocean depths.
The paintings have received many positive comments in our office and have enhanced the decoration of the building. His art is truly unique and each piece is one-of-a-kind. We recommend the artist, Ricardo M. Jimenez, and encourage you to contact him, as his paintings would enhance any setting.

We are really pleased with the artwork we have purchased from Ricardo Jimenez for our Toyota "Certified Center Showroom. Mr. Jimenez has been very diligent in his regard for his artwork and providing us with both high levels of creativity and technical assisted us in finding five pieces of mixed media art that would add that special something to our newly remodeled showroom. Our customer's have given us wonderful feedback concerning the artwork, how it has added a touch of class.
To say that we are elated with Ricardo would only be the start. If you would like to contact me please do so.

It is a pleasure to comment on the work of Ricardo Jimenez. I have known Mr. Jimenez for four years, and during that time I have found him to be one of the most dynamic and talented artists with whom I have worked. Mr. Jimenez brings everything to his work and brings everything out of his work. He asks of himself nothing less than that the essence of his experience be conveyed through the work, and he is willing to persevere with the efforts and experiments that it takes to accomplish this goal.
The title of his master show, "Obras de mi alma" ("Works from my soul"), is appropriate. Mr. Jimenez undertakes a process of communion between the soul and nature, and between nature and paint, until something original, powerful, and personal emanates from the work. His formal and technical accomplishment also deserves comment. His works achieve a power of movement and of illumination that is unparalleled, recalling the command of a large Sam Francis work. Mr. Jimenez has a natural feeling for color and is unafraid to go where color in its purest form will take him. This achievement is aided by his technical inventiveness. He has sought out combinations of ink, paint, and paper that bring a unique brilliance to the work.
Ricardo Jimenez is a gifted and accomplished artist. His is also a fine person. It is a privilege to offer my highest recommendation to him and to his work.

I wish to make a brief statement concerning the works executed by Rick Jimenez for his master's exhibition at California State University, Fresno, in 1996. I served as one of three members on his Art 298, Project, committee. I have experienced first-hand his commitments and pursuit of energy and action in creating such an outstanding body of work. Rick's interest in planning each and every detail is a testimony to his commitment and talent. Rick was able to produce, frame, and hang works of extraordinary quality, and brought credit to himself and the University. His selected media (waterbase prisma and ink on large scale paper) was not easy to execute. Due to the impact of first-strike indelibility, watercolor is not as tolerant as oil or acrylic, and the brilliance of such a media lay in that very basic nature of intolerance. Self assurance is a prerequisite for dealing with watercolor. I wish to congratulate Rick Jimenez for the powerful imagery and the impeccable delivery and display.

Approximately two months ago I was able to preview the works of Ricardo M. Jimenez. His paintings and mixed media works are vibrant and filled with color. They depict emotion and movement through the abstract expressionistic style of presentation.

As a collector of modem masters, I have had the pleasure of attending openings of many very fIne emerging artists. Some of these artists are now close friends. I am proud both to have witnessed the growth of a tremendous talent and to count Ric Jimenez among my very good friends. I have already added one of his pieces to my growing collection. I believe once you view Ric's art you too will be greatly impressed by the power and breadth of his work.
While Associate Dean at California State University, I had the pleasure of assisting Ric in obtaining support for an impressive exhibit of his work, "Obras de Mi Alma" (Art Works of My Soul). His work is striking and overwhelming. Ric's vibrant use of color expresses the power and majesty not only of the sea, but also of his own talent. I know that you will enjoy his work as much as I do. I hope that you will take the time to meet with thim and to arrange an exhibit of his art.

A few months ago, I had the opportunity to see an exhibition of large scale paintings by Ricardo M. Jimenez. The exhibit, held at Phoebe Connley gallery of the Art Department of California State University, Fresno, represented a fulfillment ofMr. Jimenez' requirements for completion of a graduate degree.
Several things struck me about the exhibition. First, that Mr. Jimenez had exhibited a significant level of ambition in executing so many large-scale works. The pieces represented a level of self confidence in approach and execution that is unique among graduate students. The pieces were developed around a central interest in the ocean, and the colors and forms associated with sea life. This interest was consistently represented in the exhibition, creating a unified body ofwork that had a very positive presence in the gallery.
I would encourage anyone with and interest in the visual arts to take the time to review Mr. Jimenez' work.

Having seen and read carefully the portfolio concerning the works and artistic career of my good friend Ricardo M. Jimenez, it gives me pleasure to express here my great admiration for the dedication and labor represented by this body of work.
Strongly attracting my attention, among many other facets of his work, are two ever present elements that dominate his paintings. First, the profound inspiration that translates pictorially a combination, very suggestive, of a profound sentiment, almost passionate, of an overflowing fantasy and a spiritual communion with some of natures great phenomena, especially those arising from his many marine experiences.
Also very interesting is the style and technique with which these paintings are done; an especially innovative technique that the artist calls "Mixed Media," which produces an intense impact on the observer, a psychological commotion, due to the great expressive force of his colors and dynamic forms, always exuberant.
In summation, I believe that Ricardo M. Jimenez, in his mature youth, is a very original and important artist, that can certainly be ofgreat interest to the Spanish and European public and art critics. He has also established connections with several Spanish art galleries and has successfully booked a one-man exhibit in Alicante, Spain in May, 1998.
